“Save the tigers ”is a group of volunteers . These volunteers hope to save the tigers of the world . At the beginning of the 20th century，the number of tigers in the wild was around 100 000 . But today that number has dropped to a few thousand .

Tigers live in the forests of Asia . They usually have orange fur and dark stripes . Tigers are symbols of strength and courage. In many stories，they are brave . The tiger is at the top of the food chain. It helps keep the number of other wild animals in balance. For this reason❶，tigers are important to the environment.

常构成的短语：for reasons of为了，出于； in reason合情合理的，正当的。

reasonable adj.合乎情理的，公道的

在英语中reason常和for连用，意为“……的原因”，但和because不在一个句子中出现。

火灾发生的原因是天气干燥。
