1.Have you finished your English homework yet,Brian? 

本句为现在完成时。现在完成时表示过去发生或已经完成的动作对现在造成的影响或结果,也可表示过去已经开始,一直延续到现在的动作或状态。

yet意为“还,尚,仍,已经”,通常用于否定句或疑问句。其构成是:主语+have/has+过去分词+其他或疑问句中,多用于现在完成时态,常放于句末。

2.I haven’t decided which one to write yet. 

本句中的which one to write是“疑问词+不定式”结构用在动词decided后作宾语。

3.Compared with poems,stories usually have longer passages. 

compared with意为“和……比起来”,在句中为过去分词短语作状语。

【辨析】compare…with…,compare…to…

(1)compare A with B意为“把A和B做比较”,用于连接A、B两个比较对象。

(2)compare A to B意为“将A比作B”,用于表示把A比喻成B。

4.But a story doesn’t limit you like a poem does. 

like可以引导比较状语从句,意为“像……,如同……”。

从句中的does是为了避免与主句中的动词重复。

5.With poems,you need to think about format,rhyme and meaning. 

with在本句中为介词,意为“对于,关于”。

need to think about…意为“需要考虑……”。

6.You must use words very carefully because so few words are used in poems. 

be used in poems意为“被用于诗中”。be used为被动语态,意为“被用”。被动语态的结构为“be+动词的过去分词”。

1. Have you written your poem yet, Brian? 布赖恩，你写完诗了吗？

此句为现在完成时，与现在完成时连用的副词有：already（已经），yet（仍然），just（刚刚），ever（曾经），never（从不），before（以前）等。

I have already seen the film. 我已看过那部电影了。

My mother hasn’t come back yet. 我妈妈还没有回来。

already（已经）通常用于肯定句，表示已经完成某事，可以加在助动词have/has与实义动词的中间，也可以用在句子最后。yet多用于否定句和疑问句，一般放在句尾。

She has already finished her task. =She has finished her task already. 她已经完成了她的任务。

Have they cleaned the room yet? 他们打扫房间了吗？

David hasn’t made his bed yet. 大卫还没有整理床铺。

2. Compared with poems, stories usually have longer passages. 和诗比起来，故事通常有更长的章节。

compared to/with意为“和……比起来”，为过去分词短语做状语。

Compared with many people, I think I am very lucky. 和很多人相比，我觉得我很幸运。

3. I haven’t decided which one to write. 我还没决定写哪个。

decide意为“决定”，常见搭配有：

1）decide to do决定做某事

2）后跟“疑问词+动词不定式（短语）”或疑问词引导的宾语从句。

3）跟that从句。

疑问词＋不定式短语”在句中作宾语。

eg：I don't know where to go next.

在宾语从句中，当主句谓语动词是know，ask，  

learn，decide，tell，wonder，show，teach等

时，如果主句的主语和宾语从句的主语一致 ，

且从句由疑问词引导，往往可把宾语从句省略为带有疑问词的动词不定式。

＝I wondered how to finish the task.

我想知道如何完成这项任务。

表示“在某世纪”时,用“in+the+序数词+century”,表示“在某世纪某年代”时,用“in+the+数字+-s/-’s”。

【注意】用数字表示“某世纪”时,不要丢掉定冠词the。

2.This kind of poem always talks about a single topic. 

◆如果主语是由“限定词+kind/type/sort of+名词”构成,随后的动词形式按以下规则:

(1)在a kind/sort/type of,this kind/sort/type of之后通常跟可数名词单数或不可数名词,动词用单数形式。

【注意】在这种结构中,通常不用复数名词。

(2)在these kinds of,many/several kinds of之后,通常用复数名词或不可数名词,动词都用复数形式。

◆single为形容词,意为“单一的,单独的”。

【拓展】a/one single+单数名词=only one+单数名词。
