1.Chopsticks 筷子
Chopsticks play an important role in Chinese food culture. Chopsticks are called “kuaizi” in Chinese and were called “zhu” in ancient times. Chinese people have been using chopsticks as one of the main tableware (餐具) for more than 3,000 years.
筷子在中国的饮食文化中具有重要意义。筷子在古时也称“箸”。中国人使用筷子作为餐具已经有3 000多年的历史了。
Chopsticks can be classified into five groups based on the materials used to make them, such as wood, metal, bone, stone and compound (混合) chopsticks. Bamboo and wood chopsticks are the most popular ones used among Chinese people.
筷子根据用料可分为五种,如木头、金属、骨头、石材和混合材料筷子。竹子和木头筷子是中国人最常用的。
2.Chopsticks and Chinese Food 筷子与中国菜
The chopsticks have played a promoting role in the development of the cuisine (烹饪) techniques. Some Chinese dishes are prepared with chopsticks, such as cold and dressed dish, noodles, Instant-boiled Mutton, Candied Floss Potatoes and other dishes.
筷子对中国厨艺的发展起到了推波助澜的作用。有些中国菜需要用筷子来做厨具,如冷盘、面食、涮羊肉、拔丝土豆及其他菜肴。
3.Table Manners 餐桌礼仪
There're a few things to avoid when using chopsticks. Chinese people usually don't beat their bowls while eating, since the behavior used to be practiced by beggars. Also don't insert chopsticks in a bowl upright because it is a custom (习俗) exclusively used in sacrifice.

[通技法——学写作规范]
一、概要写作解读
本单元的写作项目为概要写作,作为英语高考新题型的概要写作一般是提供一篇350词以内的短文,要求考生基于该短文写出一篇60词左右的内容概要。概要写作的原文会以说明文或者议论文为主。具体写作要求是:在正确理解文章的基础上,在不改变原文中心思想的前提下,用简明、精炼的语句高度浓缩文章的主要内容和观点。概要写作的文章将主要考虑以下内容:
(1)对原文要点的理解和呈现情况;
(2)应用语法结构和词汇的准确性;
(3)上下文的连贯性;
(4)对各要点表达的独立性情况。
二、概要写作四步技法
第一步:归纳主旨大意(含段落大意)
概要写作的第一步便是阅读并抓取主题,进而提取主旨大意,即有关该主题的主要内容或作者在该主题上的观点或主张。
1.结合主旨大意,细读段落,找出每个段落的主旨句和关键词,
区别段落中哪些是main ideas,哪些是supporting ideas, examples 和additional information。通常是在相对重要的句子中提炼关键词。正确的关键词和关键句是概要写作最重要内容和依据。
2.消减事例,尽量减少实事并省略细节。
第三步:合并和改写
1.合并信息首先需要对信息进行分类、整合,找到信息之间的联系,再将联系紧密的信息合并在一起。同一层级的主旨句 不宜合并在一起,但如果联系紧,且没有支持的细节信息,可以考虑合并。
2.在核心信息的基础上进行语言表达形式的改写,对原文的语言表达形式尽可能实现大规模的改变(改词、换句型)。

一、基本构成
在“介词+关系代词”结构引导的定语从句中,关系代词指物用which,指人用whom,不可用that或who代替。

二、介词不能提前的情况
有些固定动词短语中的介词一般不能提前。常见的这类动词短语有listen to, look at, depend on, look for, pay attention to, take care of, look after, take part in, call on, catch up with, get along with, hear of, look forward to等。

三、“介词+关系代词”的拓展
1.复合介词+关系代词
用于该结构的关系代词有which, whom和whose。常用的复合介词有because of, in front of, as a result of, at the back of等。
He was badly hurt in the accident, because of which he didn't go to work.
他在事故中严重受伤,因为这个原因他没去上班。
They arrived at a farmhouse, in front of which sat a boy.
他们来到一座农舍,农舍前面坐着一个男孩。
2.表部分或整体概念的“代词+of+关系代词”
表示部分与整体概念的代词有both, all, neither, none, either,
some, any, most, few, one, half等。
He has lots of hobbies, one of which is swimming.

The old man has three sons, all of whom care about him.

3.the+名词+of+关系代词
此结构用来代替“whose+名词”,也可用“of which the+名词”。

4.关系副词when, where, why可用“介词+which”来代替
I often think of the moment when (= at which) I saw the UFO.

I don't know the reason why (= for which) he performed badly.

四、the way后的定语从句的关系词
way表示“方法,方式”时,其后的定语从句有两种情况:
1.the way的关系词在定语从句中作主语或宾语时,用that和which均可,作宾语时可省略。
The way (that/which) he thought of to prevent the air pollution was very good.
他想出的防止空气污染的方法非常好。(关系词代替the way在定语从句中作thought of的宾语)
2.the way的关系词在定语从句中作方式状语时,用that或in which均可,现代英语倾向于省略关系词。
I don't like the way (that/in which) you speak to your mother.

定语从句(3)
课堂要点精析
当关系代词在定语从句中作介词的宾语时,我们通常用“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句。如果指“人”,用“介词+whom”;如果指“物”,用“介词+which”。
(1) 在介词后作宾语的关系代词一般只能用which 和whom,不用that和who。
(2) 但是当介词放在后面时,在限制性定语从句中,可用that代替which/whom,并且that可省略。
(3) 在定语从句中,有一些含介词的动词短语不可拆开使用(短语拆开后含义发生变化),如look after, look for等。
◆The babies whom the nurses are looking after are very healthy.( )

关系代词前介词选择的原则
1.根据定语从句中的谓语动词或形容词和介词的搭配关系选择

“介词+关系代词”的几种常见结构
1.“介词+which”在定语从句中分别可作时间、地点和原因状语,代替相应的关系副词when, where和why。
◆I’ll never forget the day on which(=when) she said goodbye to me.
我永远不会忘记她与我们告别的那一天。
◆The house in which(=where)we live is not large.
我们住的房子不是很大。
◆This is the reason for which(=why) he was put in prison.
这就是他坐牢的原因。
2.“代词/数词+of+which/whom”引导非限制性定语从句
这个结构中,代词常常为all, each, one, many, much, most, some, none, both等,“代词+of+which/whom”通常在定语从句中作主语,说明整体中的一部分。有时候也可把“of+which/whom”置于代词或数词前。
◆I have ten books, half of which were written by Mo Yan.
我有10本书,其中一半是莫言写的。
◆The old man has two sons,both of whom are lawyers.

3.“the+名词+of which/whom”引导非限制性定语从句
这个结构中,of which/whom充当定语,修饰前面的名词,整个结构相当于“whose+名词”引导的定语从句。

本句“sees the mountains turn bright green”为“see+宾语+宾补”句型。其中turn bright green为不带to的不定式作宾补。
(1)“感官动词+宾语+宾补”的常见形式:

(2)常见的感官动词:五看see, watch, observe, look at, notice;两听hear, listen to;一感觉feel。
