Explanation

1. where 引导疑问句及其答语

where 是疑问副词，意为“在哪里”，问人或事物所处的位置。提问时，where放在句首，后面用一般疑问句语序。回答这类问题时，一般要使用表示方位的介词短语。  如：

Where’s the schoolbag?  书包在哪里？

It’s under the table.  它在桌子底下。

but  表示转折关系，意为 “但是，然而” 在句中连接前后两个意思相反或相对的句子。
