我们可以发现动词不定式的另外两种语法功能:
①在“动词+宾语+动词不定式”的结构中充当宾语的补足语
②在句中表示行为动作的目的,作目的状语

动词不定式
1.动词不定式作宾语补足语
可用于“动词+宾语+动词不定式”这一结构的动词有很多,除本模块出现的allow,choose等词外,常见的还有:want, tell, ask, invite, help等。
She asked him to come to the party.
She wants me to go with her.
需要注意的是:
1)以上动词接不定式作宾语补足语时,若要表达否定的意思,要在to do前加not, 构成not to do的形式。例如:
Mr Han told us not to make too much noise.
韩先生告诉我们不要弄出太大声音。
Jackie told me not to touch anything!
杰基告诉我不要碰任何东西。
2)有些动词后接动词作宾语补足语时,可以接不带to的不定式,常见的这类动词有:help, make, let, have, hear, feel, see等。例如:
I’ll have Tony show you around the school.
我会让托尼带你参观校园。
His words made everyone laugh.
他的话让大家哄堂大笑。
2. 动词不定式作目的壮语
如果表示“做某事是为了什么”,可以用动词不定式表示目的。例如:
We don’t want to lose tigers, elephants or any other animals, so the WWF is working hard to save them all.
在这种情况下,不定式既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。
Dylan trained hard to improve his basketball skills.
迪伦刻苦训练以提高自己的篮球技能。
也可以说:
To improve his basketball skills, Dylan trained hard.
根据表达需要,动词不定式还可以作原因壮语和结果状语。
