(1). 作为习语用作介词时，as well as的涵义是“还有”、“不但…而且…”。值得注意的是，在A as well as B的结构里，语意的重点在 A，不在 B。因此，“He can speak Spanish as well as English．”的译文应该是：“他不但会说英语，而且会讲西班牙语 ”

as well as和 not only… but also…同义，但前者的语意重点和后者的语意重点恰好颠倒。 

(2). 如果 as well as用作连词引出比较从句，其义为“和……一样好”。

He speaks Spanish as well as English．

应译作：“他说西班牙语像说英语一样好”。语意的重点依旧在前部，不在后半部。 

as well是副词短语，其义为“也”，相当于too，它一般放在句末，有时和连词and或but搭配使用。

2. 辨析：join，join in, take part in 与 attend

(1). join指加入某个党派，团体组织等，成为其成员之一，意为“参军；入团；入党”等。

“和某人一起做某事, 其结构为：join sb. in (doing) sth., 根据上下文，in (doing) sth.也可以省去。

(2). join in多指参加小规模的活动，如球赛、游戏等，常用于日常口语。

1.be proud of  =take pride in 以……为骄傲

区别比较：

proud是形容词性，pride是名词性，be proud 

of和take pride in后面都可以加sth. 或doing sth.

状语从句主要用来修饰主句或主句的谓语。一般可分为七大类，分别表示时间、原因、目的、结果、条件、让步、比较。现分别将原因,目的，结果状语从句分析如下：

1. 原因状语从句

常用引导词： because, since, as

I didn’t go surfing, because it was too cold.

2. 目的状语从句
