这四个方向词＋­ern构成形容词，表示“……方的”，即：

辨析point at与point to

point at

指向较近的事物。指向某人时常有责备、抱怨之意。

You can’t point at your mother like that.你不能像那样指着你妈妈。

point to 

指向较远的事物。指向某人时不含贬义。

He is pointing to a flying bird happily.他正高兴地指着一只飞翔的小鸟。
