farthest是far的最高级，表示“最远的”。形

容词的最高级表示三者或三者以上的人或

事物的比较。形容词的最高级前面要加定

冠词the,句末一般跟一个of (in)介词短语来

说明比较的范围。其句型是“A+系动词+形

容词的最高级+of/in/…”。

(1)形容词的最高级前面如果有by far等程度副词词组修饰时，应放在定冠词the的前面。

She is by far the best of all students in the class.

她是班上最好的学生。

(2)形容词的最高级前面如果有序数词修饰时，它应放在定冠词之后。
