(1)与具体数字连用时,习惯上用单数,而且也不后接介词of。
He was prepared to pay two million. 他愿意支付200万。
More than a hundred people were injured. 有一百多人受了伤。
(2) 表示不确定的泛指数时,则要用复数,而且要后接介词of,然后才能接名词。如:
The sun was shining. Thousands of people were lying on the beach. 阳光灿烂,数以千计的人躺在海滩上。
there is/are 表示客观存在
have/has 表示主观拥有
1.在there be 句型中,主语是单数,be 动词用is . 主语是复数,be 动词用are 。
2.there be 句型的否定句在be 动词后加not , 一般疑问句把be 动词调到句首.
3.针对数量提问的特殊疑问句的基本结构是:
How many + 名词复数 + are there + 介词短语?
How much + 不可数名词 + is there + 介词短语?

动词不定式
当我们要表示“想做某事、需要做某事或决定做某事”时,就会出现两个动词连用的情况,这时应如何表达呢?
同学们自然会想到want to do sth.,need to do sth.和decide to do sth.等表达方式。
1. 什么是动词不定式?
主要行为动词后面的动词都采用了“to+动词原形”的结构,我们把这种结构称为动词不定式(有时可以不带to)。动词不定式没有人称和数的变化,在句子中不能作谓语。下面我们一起来看一下动词不定式有哪些语法功能。
2. 动词不定式的语法功能:
1. 不定式作主语
不定式作主语时,常用it作形式主语,而将作主语的不定式放在句子后部。
It is good to help others.
帮助他人是件好事。
It is exciting to surf the Internet.
上网是件令人兴奋的事。
2. 不定式作宾语
学习不定式作宾语时,要注意掌握:后接不定式作宾语的动词。常见动词有: want,
hope, wish, like, begin, try, need, forget, agree, help 等。
Many people decide not to think about it.
许多人决定不去想这件事。

我想去图书馆。

可用于“动词+宾语+动词不定式”这一结构的动词有很多,除本模块出现的allow,choose等词外,常见的还有:want, tell, ask, invite, help等。

需要注意的是:
1)以上动词接不定式作宾语补足语时,若要表达否定的意思,要在to do前加not, 构成not to do的形式。例如:
Mr Han told us not to make too much noise.
韩先生告诉我们不要弄出太大声音。

杰基告诉我不要碰任何东西。
2)有些动词后接动词作宾语补足语时,可以接不带to的不定式,常见的这类动词有:help, make, let, have, hear, feel, see等。例如:

His words made everyone laugh.
他的话让大家哄堂大笑。
2. 动词不定式作目的壮语
如果表示“做某事是为了什么”,可以用动词不定式表示目的。例如:

在这种情况下,不定式既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。
