1.关系副词when引导定语从句时,先行词应是表示时间的名词,关系词在从句中作时间状语。
◆I still remember the time when I first travelled by plane.我仍然记得我第一次坐飞机旅行的时候。
◆We will never forget the year when the 29th Olympic Games were held in Beijing.我们将永远不会忘记第29届奥运会在北京举办的那一年。
2.关系副词where引导定语从句时,先行词应是表示地点或抽象地点的名词,关系词在从句中作地点状语。
◆I’d like to live in the house where there is plenty of sunshine.我喜欢住在那个阳光充足的房子里。
◆The house where I lived ten years ago has been pulled down.我十年前居住的那所房子已经被拆除了。
3.关系副词why引导定语从句时,先行词常常为reason,关系词在从句中作原因状语。
◆I don’t know the reason why he didn’t turn to his good friend for help yesterday.
我不知道昨天他为什么没向他的好朋友求助。

我坚决不听你给我们提供的那个理由。(定语从句中缺少宾语,所以用that/which,不用why)

“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句
当关系代词在定语从句中作介词的宾语时,我们通常用“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句。如果指“人”,用“介词+whom”;如果指“物”,用“介词+which”;关系代词有时也用whose(作定语)。
选用介词的依据:
1.根据定语从句中谓语动词的搭配习惯(即固定短语)。
◆Yesterday we visited the West Lake for which Hangzhou is famous.昨天我们参观了西湖,杭州因其而出名。(be famous for...因……而出名)
2.根据先行词的搭配习惯(约定俗成,不一定是短语)。
◆This is the camera with which he often takes photos.
这就是他经常用来拍照的相机。(with camera用照相机)
◆The old woman with whom you talked just now is a famous artist.刚才和你们说话的老太太是一位著名的艺术家。(talk with sb.和某人谈话)
3.根据句子的意思来选择。
◆My computer, without which I can’t surf the Internet,broke down yesterday.
昨天我的电脑坏了,没有它我不能网上冲浪。
4.表示“所有”关系或“整体中的一部分”时,通常用介词of。
◆I have ten books, half of which were written by Mo Yan.
我有10本书,其中一半是莫言写的。
◆The old man has two sons, both of whom are lawyers.
这位老人有两个儿子,他们两个都是律师。

一、审题定调
1.确定体裁:本单元的写作是写一篇介绍课外学习英语经验的博客,根据写作材料来看,该类短文可使用说明文的形式。
2.确定人称:由于是介绍自己的学习经验,所以主要人称为第一人称。
3.确定时态:由于李华现在还是学生,所介绍的是他经常做的事情,所以主要时态用一般现在时。
二、谋篇布局
本文可以按照逻辑顺序来写作,分为三个段落。
第一段:简单介绍自己对英语学习的认识,然后说明参加英语角和其他课外活动的益处。
第二部分:具体做法——参加英语角,写英语日记以及阅读英文网站的收获。
第三部分:对全文做出总结。

1.关系副词引导的定语从句
(1)when指时间,在定语从句中做时间状语。

(2)where指地点,在定语从句中做地点状语。
I would like to live in a country where there is less air pollution.
我想居住在一个空气污染少的国家。
The photo was taken at the place where stood the famous statue,a landmark of the city.

(3)why表示原因,在定语从句中做原因状语。
The reason why he has had such a success is that he never gives up.

2.“介词(短语)+关系代词”引导的定语从句
“介词(短语)+关系代词”也可引导定语从句,在句中做时间、地点和原因状语,代替相应的关系副词when,where和why。“介词(短语)+关系代词”表示地点时,有时句子需要用完全倒装形式。

(2)根据先行词的习惯搭配或意义来考虑。

(3)根据句子的具体含义来考虑。

概要是一篇较长文章本质思想的简洁重述,它要求用尽量少的语言对原文的主旨进行复述。概要不是简单的换句话说,更不是评论,而是作者思想中最基本部分的准确再现。
[评分标准]
《考试说明》中规定概要写作阅卷时按5个档次给分,其中最高档次第五档(21-25 points)的评分标准是:1.理解准确,涵盖全部要点;2.能准确使用相应的语法结构和词汇;3.完全使用自己的语言;4.有效使用了语句间的连接成分,使完成的概要结构紧凑。
[写作方法]
1.定位——查找核心信息
通过阅读定位语篇的核心信息,包括核心单词,核心短语和核心句子。(句子为主,以单词和短语为辅)
2.改写——用自己的语言改写信息
在核心信息的基础上进行语言表达形式的改写,对原文的语言表达形式尽可能实现大规模的改变。改写过程中,原则上字数不超过原句,不改变原文的逻辑结构,充分考虑语句压缩。
3.核查——添加关联词,检查句子的连贯性
核查句子的连贯性。核查标点、语法、连接词及字数,优先考虑使用较短的连接词,如:but,then,later等。

如何写概要写作?
一、题型特点
概要写作的阅读材料词数一般为300左右。写作要求考生在对原文阅读后根据其内容写出一篇约60词的内容概要。概要所用语句既要用词准确,结构合理,语义连贯,不得抄写原文,又要能完全概括出文章的中心大意。
二、注意事项
1.词数要限制在60词左右,上下不得超过10个单词。
2.要根据文章的体裁特点进行概要写作。
3.人称和时态要与所给文章中的人称和时态保持一致,但必要时也可变换成第三人称。
4.写作时尽可能地使用复合句,必要时可转换词性,不得完全照搬照抄原文。

课堂自主精析
1.在主从复合句中,对某一名词或代词起修饰作用的从句叫定语从句。被修饰的名词或代词叫先行词,引导定语从句的词叫关系词。
2.关系词分为关系代词(that, which, who, whom, whose, as等)和关系副词(when, where, why等)两类。
关系代词的基本用法
1.who指人,在定语从句中可以充当主语、宾语或表语。
◆The children who were injured in a car accident are being treated in the hospital now. 在车祸中受伤的孩子们现在正在医院接受治疗。(作主语)
◆Danny was a man who we rescued from the ruins.
丹尼是我们从废墟中救出来的一个人。(作宾语)
2.whom指人,在定语从句中作宾语,可省略,也可用who代替。
◆Rose is the person (who/whom) you should care about.
罗丝是你应该关心的人。
◆The boy (who/whom) the teacher often praises is their monitor.

3.whose既可以指人,也可以指物,表示“所属”关系,whose在定语从句中作定语。

◆The magazine (that) I bought yesterday is lost.
我昨天买的那本杂志丢了。(指物,作宾语)

关系词只能用that而不用which的情况
1.当先行词为all, everything, nothing, anything, much等不定代词时。

◆All that can be done has been done.
所有能做的都做了。
2.先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时。
◆The first place that they visited in London was the Big Ben.
在伦敦他们参观的第一个地方是大本钟。

3.先行词被all, every, no, the only, the very, the last等修饰时。
◆I’ve read all the books that are not mine.

I always wanted to look like the slim girls on TV even though I knew that it was impossible.I worried about my weight and tried every new diet I read about online.I tried no-fat,low-fat,5:2,only bananas,no bananas—I almost went bananas,too.
Then I read an article that said instead of asking “Am I fat?” I should be asking “Am I fit?” I had no idea a letter could make such a difference! Once I started thinking about fitness rather than weight,things began to change.Instead of saying “I want to lose three kilos”,I would say “I want to run two kilometres in eight minutes” or “I want to be able to do 30 push-ups”.Rather than cutting out the foods I enjoyed,I added healthy foods to my meals.I could still have a burger now and then,but I would add a salad or an apple.
Finally,I stopped comparing myself with actresses and models and looking for things that were wrong with my face or body.Instead,I made a list of the things I liked about myself.By being positive about myself and my body,I became both happier and healthier.
